Each situation is different. If I have a responsibility to uphold and there are more pros than cons for me staying then I'll stay. If 'I' do not benefit or have a chance of benefitting from the thing or person I leave.

I switch from soft love to tough love depending on the circumstance and the process. I taught my daughter to ride a bike. I held her seat with her to get the hang of riding a couple times. She eventually she told me to let go after a couple days. My son wants to ride a bike without training wheels now. I did the same process as with my daughter. I started out complimenting while holding on, but as we progress after 2 weeks of small praises I decided to switch from holding to watching while giving affirmations so he can believe in himself and trust himself.

My heart was closed once from being love how I think I should be. So I would dive in Rom-Com movies and books to fill my heart and see love. However, what opened my heart back up to loving again was forgiveness and the realization that everyone loves differently. I had to forgive and implement my 2 C's: Communication and Compromise.

I've experienced God's discipline and it built my faith in him. I was struggling with master*****n, I didn't feel loved so I would love on myself. But every time I did something would happen at home either argument with husband or disobedient children. It never failed. I didn't notice until I was praying one day and re-evaluate my life and when it happen and why it's happening. So I changed my prayer and asked the Lord to change my desire to do that anymore as frequently (being honest with myself). Then came to the realization that he just wants the best for me and wants to remind me that he loves me and will step in the remind me that he's watching, near and available. He doesn't want to to go astray.
